Philanthropies

  • Part of our responsibility as Theta Phi Alphas is to care for and to make a commitment to those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Advancing philanthropic interests is a part of Theta Phi Alpha's mission and such interest is promoted throughout the collegiate experience and beyond, during the alumnal years.

Volunteering our services to the community in several different ways is important to our mission as a fraternal organization. In an attempt to help others, Theta Phi Alpha chapters, Alumnae Associations, and individual sisters have supported local and national philanthropic activities and community service.

Through the Theta Phi Alpha Foundation, Theta Phi Alpha supports two national philanthropic causes: Glenmary Home Missioners and The House That Theta Phi Alpha Built.

  • National Philanthropies

    Glenmary Home Missioners

Glenmary's work is in depressed rural areas of the United States, primarily the Appalachian Mountains, where they distribute food, clothing, books, and assist in providing medical care, job training, and tutoring to needy persons.

The House That Theta Phi Alpha Built

The House That Theta Phi Alpha Built, having been established in 1993, is Theta Phi Alpha's newest national philanthropic cause. The common goal is to provide plight to the homeless in any way.  The  chapter can seek to provide assistance to organizations that help the homeless, shelters, homebuilding or home revitalization projects.  The goal permits all Theta Phis to help those in need in their own community while remaining united in our aim and purpose.

LULAC - Annual Easter Egg Hunt & Halloween Party

Gamma Zeta chapter host an annual Easter Egg Hunt for children from low income families.  Most of these children would not have any type of egg hunt without our help, and the sisters love to see the smile on these kids face every year we go!

    Highway Clean Up

Our Gamma Zeta chapter adopted a two mile highway near the school, which we clean 2 times a year!

    Pie a Theta Phi

This semester our sisters raised money for the American Heart Association with a friendly competition; girls had to raise money to get a sister pied.
